Ya Bao Yesheng

Ya Bao Yesheng

White tea from Dehong, China

Harvested in Spring

Sold for 20$

Young buds of a wild variety of tea trees growing in the Yunnan province. Pu-erh teas are most often produced from the same trees, which is why Ya Bao is sometimes called "white pu-erh".
The appearance of this tea is completely different from what we are used to. These are the resting and angular buds of many Yunna large-leaved varieties, and in rarer cases, the tip buds of some wild varieties. These buds are harvested just after winter, in January and February.
The presented version of Ya Bao comes from Dehong in the western part of Yunnan and grows around 1,800 meters above sea level.
The taste and aroma are very unique and characteristic of this tea, they combine sweetness with the light sharpness of pine needles. Watermelon aftertaste with a hint of vanilla. The whole thing is very light.
