Kukicha

Kukicha

Green tea from Japan

Sold for 8$

Japanese stem tea. It consists mainly of the leaf stalks of the tea plant, but also the leaves themselves. Refreshing and light green tea with a lower caffeine content.
The taste is slightly grassy, citrusy and refreshing, with moderate bitterness. Kukicha is lighter than green teas from Japan such as sencha or bancha.
Kukicha tea can be poured over with relatively high temperature water. That is why it is a popular everyday tea in Japan - it does not require as much attention as, for example, sencha. On the other hand, the kukicha is also great in the so-called "cold brew", that is, in long maceration in cold water, most often in the refrigerator. This method of preparation gives a very refreshing drink, perfect for summer.
