Genmaicha

Classic tea with roasted rice.
Genmaicha is a popular, everyday Japanese tea based on bancha green tea. It contains little caffeine, so it can be drunk at any time of the day. Its distinctive taste makes it suitable for most meals.
Genmaicha began her dizzying career as a tea for the lower, poor social classes. Adding rice to tea leaves made it cheaper, and at the same time gained its unique taste - a taste that all Japan liked, regardless of social status and wealth.
The addition of roasted rice gives a pleasant, warm aroma. The infusion is dominated by fresh, green, sea and grassy notes of bancha tea combined with the roasted, roasted rice flavor.
